Independent Mercedes-Benz specialist in Cardiff

An independent Mercedes specialist run by someone who spent ten years working on them inside Mercedes-Benz Cardiff. That is the whole proposition, and it is verifiable.

What a general garage cannot do

The difference between a garage that will take your Mercedes-Benz and a garage that knows it is mostly software, schedules and having seen the same fault a hundred times.

  • Ten years as a technician at Mercedes-Benz Cardiff, on the tools
  • Marque-level diagnostic software, not a generic code reader
  • Service schedules taken from the manufacturer system for your exact model
  • Service indicator and assist system reset correctly, not just cleared
  • Genuine and OEM parts, so a manufacturer warranty stays intact
  • Coding and programming for replacement modules and components
  • AdBlue and emissions system work in house
  • Air suspension, adaptive damping and electronic parking brakes

What we actually see go wrong on Mercedes-Benz

Written from what comes through the door, not copied off a forum. If yours is doing one of these, you are not imagining it.

W205 C-Class

Rattle from the front on a cold start

Usually the timing chain tensioner on the earlier petrol engines. Worth catching early, because a stretched chain is a very different bill to a tensioner.

W204 and W205

Damp in the boot or footwell

Blocked sunroof and scuttle drains are the usual cause. Left alone the water finds control modules, and a wet module is a far bigger job than a clear drain.

OM651 diesel

Rough running and a diesel smell

Leaking injector seals are extremely common on this engine. It also chews through the delivery unit at the back of the injectors. Both are known and both are fixable.

W212 E-Class

Air suspension dropping overnight

Airmatic struts perish with age and the compressor then works itself to death trying to keep up. We test whether it is the strut, the valve block or the compressor rather than replacing all three.

Most modern diesels

AdBlue warnings and a countdown to no-start

Often the NOx sensor or the metering unit rather than the fluid itself. The countdown is genuine, so it is worth diagnosing before it strands you.

Service schedules

Mercedes-Benz uses Service A and Service B on a flexible schedule, and the car works out when it is due from how you actually drive it. Service A is the shorter one, Service B the fuller one, and the longer-interval items such as brake fluid, spark plugs and filters land at their own intervals on top. We read the schedule from the manufacturer system for your exact model and mileage, then tell you what is genuinely due.

The dealer question

An independent Mercedes specialist is not a compromise on the work, it is a compromise on the overheads. The dealer does good work. What they cannot do is charge dealer rates and independent rates at the same time. You get the same schedule, the same diagnostic depth and the option of genuine parts, from someone who spent a decade doing this job inside that building.

Servicing at a qualified independent does not void a manufacturer warranty, provided the manufacturer schedule is followed and the parts used match the required quality. We do both, and we record it. How we handle parts.

Mercedes-Benz, questions answered

Will servicing my Mercedes here affect my warranty?

No, provided the service follows the manufacturer schedule and uses parts of matching quality. That is the Block Exemption Regulation, and it is exactly why we work to the manufacturer schedule and record what we do.

Can you reset the service indicator properly?

Yes. The service indicator is reset through the car's own system with the correct service type logged against it, not cleared with a generic tool.

Do you use genuine Mercedes-Benz parts?

We offer genuine dealer parts, OEM parts made by the same suppliers to the same specification, and quality aftermarket where it is the sensible choice on an older car. You choose, and we explain the difference honestly.

Can you work on AMG models?

Yes. Ring the workshop with the model and what it needs and we will tell you straight whether it is a job for us.

The other specialisms

Not on the list? Every make and model is welcome here.
