Who these terms are with
These terms apply to work carried out by TMC Motors Ltd (company number 12747632), trading as Team Mercedes Cardiff, of Cardiff Marine Village, Penarth Road, Cardiff CF11 8TU.
Enquiries and bookings
An enquiry made through this website is a request for information, not a booking. Your vehicle is booked in once we have agreed the work and a date with you directly, normally on the phone.
Any price given before we have seen the vehicle is an estimate based on what you have told us. If the work turns out to be different once we have the vehicle, we will tell you before we carry on.
Additional work
We will not carry out work beyond what you have authorised without contacting you first and agreeing the price. If we cannot reach you, the vehicle waits.
Where we recommend work and you decline it, we will note that on your invoice. That is not us being difficult, it is a record that protects both of us.
Parts
We offer genuine, OEM and quality aftermarket parts and we will tell you which tier we are quoting. Parts carry the manufacturer's or supplier's own warranty, which we will pass on to you in full.
Replaced parts are kept for you to inspect and are disposed of after collection of the vehicle unless you ask us to keep them.
MOT testing
MOT tests are carried out to the DVSA inspection standard. The maximum fee for a class 4 MOT is set by the government and we do not charge above it.
An MOT is a test of roadworthiness at the time of the test. It is not a warranty and it is not a guarantee of condition for the following twelve months.
Where your vehicle fails and we carry out the repair, the retest is free.
Payment and collection of your vehicle
Payment is due on completion, before the vehicle leaves us, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
We have a legal right to retain a vehicle until the bill for work carried out on it has been paid.
Vehicles left with us for more than 28 days after we have told you the work is finished may incur reasonable storage charges, which we will tell you about before they start.
Our workmanship
We carry out work with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If something we have done is not right, tell us and bring the vehicle back so we can look at it.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, and nothing in them excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Manufacturer warranties
Servicing at a qualified independent garage does not in itself invalidate a manufacturer warranty, provided the manufacturer schedule is followed and parts of matching quality are used. We work that way and we record what we do. Individual warranty terms vary, so check your own warranty documentation if you are unsure, and ask us if you would like us to go through it with you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
